Average purchase price multiples rebounded across most deal size tiers in Q4, bringing 2024 averages in line with 2023. Year-over-year increases in purchase price multiples were most notable in deals valued <$100 million. While market volatility, tariffs, and recession fears brought pause to some mega deals, these factors boosted buyer appetite for <$100 million deals as investors seek to deploy capital in the lower middle market.
